Vegas Yeah Baby!

We have now been to Vegas 3 times in the past one and a half years, just love the place, have seen lots of shows, as below - Raymond Teller, Penn Gillette (Penn & Teller - Magicians), Steve Wyrick - (Magician), my wife Pam went to see Elton John, The Amazing Jonathan (Comedy/Bizarre Magic) & his sidekick Tanya, picture looking north from bridge near entrance to New York New York hotel. We have to date stayed at The Sahara Hotel , Planet Hollywood Hotel , Desert Rose Resort, we are going back in October for our friends Dale and Lina's Wedding we are goin to be staying at The Venetian - Resort, Hotel, Casino got an awesome deal through Expedia Travel. There is so much to do here and with our business we have some suppliers based in Las Vegas, we get a lot of our supplies for the Temporary Airbrush Tattoos from Island Tribal Designs, and I buy some Magic from Denny & Lee Magic Studio. We go for the food and Entertainment and shopping we do a bit of gambling but not much, we usually spend a minimum of 7 nights there as it would absolutely feel too short for any less amount of time.

Kugluktuk Nunavut - Nattiq Frolics Festival

---This was the second year for Edge Entertainment to provide Entertainment for the Nattiq Frolics Festival (Nattiq means seal), it was an awesome experience, the reception we received was great, the kids are precious, the adults are all gracious, all of us that went are city people and up there all of the people definetly are not city folk you have to appreciate what they go through with the amount of cold and snow basically 10 months of the year, I don't know how they do it I couldn't but that is a totally different lifestyle. The pictures are a shot of the Recreation Complex welcoming you to Kugluktuk, Deano in performing clothes one of the nights, fellow performers - Dale, Deano (that's me), Sandra, Jeff, Kelly, the building is the RCMP detachment and jail, but the sunset was awesome it was approx. 2:00am in 2nd last picture, Kugluktuk aerial view in the bottom picture. We are hoping to go back, it was really a humbling - life changing experience seeing what we have to what other people in our own country of Canada have, one neat thing is in Calgary it is all cars and trucks) but up here it is all snowmobiles (hardly any cars or trucks at all) it is really different to see.

Kugluktuk (Inuinnaqtun: Qurluktuk, "the place of moving water"; Inuktitut formerly Coppermine until 1 January 1996) is a hamlet located at the mouth of the Coppermine River in the Kitikmeot Region of Nunavut, Canada, on Coronation Gulf, southwest of Victoria Island. It is the westernmost community in Nunavut, almost on the border with the Northwest Territories - located at 67.82 N, 115.15 W. It is the most westerly community of Nunavut with a population of approximately 1362.
The traditional language of the area was Inuinnaqtun and is written using the Latin alphabet rather than the syllabics of the Inuktitut writing system, syllabics are rarely seen and used mainly by the Government of Nunavut.Kugluktuk is located on the shore of the Arctic Ocean. The surrounding landscape is dominated by the rocky and often barren Canadian Shield. The region has a semi-arid Arctic climate, with very cold winters, light snowfall, and summers too cool to permit the growth of trees. Though trees do exist in the region, they are dwarfed and extremely sparse.
Plant growth in the region during summer months includes small shrubs, grass, moss, lichens, blueberries, blackberries, cranberries, various flowers, and dwarfed pine and birch trees.
The entire town is covered by wireless Internet service.

Mexico, Mayan Riviera, Grand Sirenis Resort, Jan 28 - Feb 4, 2009

- Ever since I was a kid in grade 6 I always wanted to go to see some ruins in Mexico (picture below is the ruins in Coba - you get to climb these ones) and we finally got the chance to go - it was awesome we did lots of really fun things, we are going to go back next year to see more places that we couldn't see this time because we just ran out of time.

New Years Eve at Delta Lodge at Kananaskis

This was our 12th New Years eve up at DLAK - we had another great run over the Christmas Season as well as New Years Eve - here is Deano - "CALGARY'S FINEST, #1 RATED most requested Family Performer and WINNER of the prestigious Parent's Choice Awards from Calgary's Child Magazine" performing his Magic Show for the guests to start out the festivities for the evening then Deano and Dale aka Bumper The Clown, Oh-Oh The Clown, Benny The Clown of Fun E Happenings (Funny Happenings) putting on the DJ Services for the partygoers to bring in the New Year. There was a fun time had by all the guests and staff for this awesome evening.

Nissan S-Cargo Edge Entertainment's Cool Vehicle

Here is one of Edge Entertainment's vehicles that we have it is a 1989 Nissan S-Cargo as of writing it has 42,500 kms.

A little bit about these weird looking vehicles:
The Nissan S-Cargo is a small commercial van manufactured by Nissan. Its name was an amusing double entendre meaning both "Small Cargo" as well as "Escargot", the French word for snail. This was because the styling of the S-Cargo looked a lot like a snail. The S-Cargo design was directly inspired by the appearance of the tiny French Citroen 2CV camionette or small truck, even including the single spoke steering wheel. The 2CV was relatively popular in Japan at this time. Its internal workings are identical to the Nissan March / Micra.
The car was introduced at the Tokyo Motor Show in 1989, and was built from 1989 to 1992 by Pike Factory for Nissan. Approximately 12,000 were manufactured. All S-Cargo's are right hand drive. While initially marketed only in Japan, S-Cargo's have spread as grey import vehicles.
It has a small cult following, in spite of being criticised for looking "toy like". Its rarity, quirky looks and huge signage panels make it an attention-grabbing vehicle.
The S-Cargo was equipped with a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder gasoline engine, a 3-speed automatic transmission, and air conditioning.

Edge Entertainment & Deano The Magic Man Charity Event

Last month we did a Charity Event for the YWCA Mary Dover House of Calgary with Pearl Tsang of CTV Television and Richard Gotfried of Trico Homes at the Regency Palace Restaurant in Chinatown. The YWCA Mary Dover House provides safe and affordable housing to women and children in crisis or transition so what we helped to do was brighten the lives of both children and the moms although for a short time it was great. In the picture is my wife Pam, Deano, Pearl Tsang of CTV Television, Richard Gotfried of Trico Homes.
